The view from Ostagar. It’s exhilarating, breathtaking, and a tad bit overwhelming for little miss Aedolin, but she’s adjusting. Living in the alienage her whole life just hasn’t quite prepared her for so many open spaces. The wildernesses and plains seem to stretch on for miles and miles, if they end at all.She takes comfort in the places around the ruins where the structures are tallest and the most intact, as they are the closest she can get to something familiar. As a child, she often dreamed of what life would be like beyond the boundaries of Denerim, but never once did the thought cross her mind that she’d see such dreams realized through such… Trying circumstances. She never asked for anything like this, but she can’t deny, being away from all the troubles of her past, becoming a small piece of something much larger than anyone can fathom—it’s a literal breath of fresh air.——I had to shrink the image because Tumblr wouldn’t upload the original. D:

Thinking of things.

One such “thing” would be starting a new account for my Grey Warden. Would that be too tacky, or would you guys be willing to follow something like that? I’d be posting (almost) daily about her adventures, as they would be seen through her eyes.

I’m almost positive that this has been done before, if not several times over, but then again, each person plays Dragon Age differently, and each Warden has his/her own story. No two are alike, even between my multiple playthroughs. Aedolin is my favorite, however, and I feel like her story would be a fun one to share with all of Tumblr, even if you’ve all been familiarized with Origins’ story a hundred times over.

On the other hand, I don’t want to just be posting my nonsense all over Internetland if no one else appreciates it. Decisions, decisions—I’m not good with them. So, give me advice? Maybe?

Almost positive this will always be my answer. My darling little Aedolin is sweet at heart, but also kind of a smartass. So many reasons I love her.Aaaand you can’t help but laugh at Morrigan’s this-kid-is-an-idiot stare.
Christening my Instagram account in the best way — with my lovely city elf, Aedolin Tabris! (Taken with Instagram)
And then, there was this one time when Duncan came to the Denerim Alienage. The children were frightened, and rightfully so: Before them stood a man in glistening armor, equipped with weapons larger than their whole bodies, and he was human, no less. In an effort to relieve tension, Duncan knelt down, looking the children in the eyes, and offered them a sack of colored inks and quills. It was a decision he instantly regret, because while it did in fact put the children at ease, they were so excited that they went wild with the colors, dipping their hands in the ink and finger-painting everything they came across—including his sword and dagger.Aedolin and Soris? Well, they were just glad to see the kids smiling for a change, even if it did mean the Alienage would have lots to clean up later.——Gotta love those glitches that allow you to make up silly stories.
A sort of Before & After of my precious little city elf.I was going to keep all the features exactly the same after installing the mod, but once I got to playing around with it a bit, I found she still could use a few more elven qualities. So, I lightened her skin, changed and lowered her eyes, and made her chin a bit more narrow.Seeing them side by side tells me only one thing: The remodel they did to the elves was completely necessary. Aedolin doesn’t look like a tiny human anymore!*PS - I have no idea what is going on with the textures in the newer picture. For some reason my computer doesn’t want to display intricate details anymore, even though I haven’t changed the video settings. /sigh

What have I done?

Guys…

I finally got around to downloading mods for Dragon Age: Origins, and just… There are no words. Too many grand things, in particular the DAII elf mod. I think my brain just exploded because my little city elf is a gajillion times prettier than she used to be, and actually looks like an elf. (Anyone who thinks DAII elves are ugly needs their head checked.)

All of my feels. They just went kaboom all over the place.
I’m never going to be able to play this game on the Xbox again.

Replaying through Dragon Age: Origins - this time, on my handy-dandy laptop.I have to say, it’s almost like playing a whole new game, simply because everything is so… Crisp. All the colors, all the textures are just magnificent, not all jagged and pixelated like they are on the XBOX.One of my favorite differences, so far, has got to be the addition of portrait expressions. Gave me a change for my dearest Aedolin to show off her cheeky side, as you can see. Also, despite the fact that it practically destroys my laptop to run the game on ultra settings, it’s worth it, simply because I can now take umpteen-million photos of my gorgeous little rogue. (In other words, prepare to be bombarded with cutesy elf-ness.)
